Absolutely love these! These bible story books are drawn in a comic strip way. They are very colorful and biblically sound. My 4 and 8 year old truly enjoy bible time. The bible references are at the bottom of the pages so you can read that story straight from the bible if you wish an even deeper study. It has a complete table of contents an time line as well.

The Graphic Novel Adaptation of the Greatest Story Ever ToldI’ve ordered this and will receive it tomorrow as of this writing, so I haven’t had hands on this product yet, but the reason why I’m writing this review now is because I wanna give my rational for ordering it.I was born and raised Catholic, and as the old joke by a comedian in the 80s who I can’t remember exactly who it was let alone their name, that “yes, I’m Catholic, I don’t read the Bible, I just show up every Sunday for a 45 minute Book Report.” (I don’t even do that anymore as I’m leaning more towards the Ancient Alien Theology at the moment, as I believe that many “Divine” moments in the Bible can be explained thru UFO encounters.) But anyway, I bought this because one of the reasons why people in general don’t read the Bible is because it’s written in an almost Riddle form that is widely open to different interpretations. I mean I read a Bible passage that’s cryptic, and I ask, “what the hell does that mean?” (No pun intended.) People just don’t talk like that now in everyday life. So what I hope this graphic novelization version of the Bible will do for me at least (I’m almost 46) is to finally give me a sense of what the Bible has been saying all along with the help of pictures to put these passages in better [visual] context. Who knows, I may become reunited with my childhood faith after I read this set. But I will say this, I’m a History Major, not a Scientist, and I believe that yes, the Bible is probably a good history book (to some extent) but it’s not a science book at all, especially when it comes to the Book of Genesis. This idea that the Earth may only be a few thousand years old going by the vague timeline in which humans were put here and so forth from the time the Earth was created just doesn’t hold up to the actual geological records of rock strata.I’ve rated this review at 3 stars for the moment as a Neutral rating. When I get the set and start reading/looking thru them, I’ll update this review as I see fit.

Grandkids riveted!I was a comic book fan as a kid and was into art and cartoons at the same time, so when I first saw these I was stunned but thought that the message just had to be muddled up. However, that was not the case. The message of man’s ruin and God’s remedy was and is crystal clear in the big picture, and at the same time engaging to children, especially those that have been exposed to movies and gaming–with graphics to wow. An adult that I showed them to had a hard time putting them down also. Thot-provoking and electrifying in portraying the good, the bad and the ugliness of man… portrayed by God. As you dig into the websites of the authors and artists… you will come face to face with the passion of the teams to present these 3 volumes in other languages around the planet. They even offer a way where anyone can help them to do that. Without being specific, as example–kids in the……..( ……….) can’t get enough of these life-changing stories from God’s Word–coming even more alive to empty searching hearts

WHERE WERE THESE WHEN I WAS A CHILD?!!!Oh yeah, not written yet. Prohibitively expensive to middle class parents with no real interest in religion, let alone their kids who were spiritually thirsty. It’s a wonderful idea and I’m having to pace myself so as to not rush through it.Some of the stories are simply the Bible put into cartoon form. Others are wonderful when the writer takes the time to add their thoughts/interpretations to what otherwise silent characters might have said or thought. I read passages like that and think, “I KNOW, right? That’s what I would have said or asked or thought if I’d been there!”There are some minor issues, like when it seems like the artists are switched midstream of a story. Telling the story of David and Jonathan, David’s hair goes from blond to blondish brown over a page and completely brown on the next page.True to comic form, there are the garish faces and nearly every woman is beautiful and every man a finely chiseled bodybuilder with sculpted musculature. You have to laugh when you see that even the poorest people have fine, ancient type jewelry and that differing armies/enemies are distinguished by particular armor/helmets. It’s all good fun and WONDERFUL!

Amazing! My 17 year old son reads Marvel comic books and is very particular. These totally passed the test! He is reading them and throughly enjoying. I love when he comes out and talks about what he learned.

These are extremely impressive in every facetThe artwork is incredible. The books are very robust, heavy, and well put together. The stories cover a ton of ground, and while they obviously can’t cover everything in the Bible and do it 100% justice, this is an excellent visual journey through scripture based on what I’ve read so far.The only very small drawback is that some of the imagery is intense for younger children. But otherwise you absolutely can’t go wrong with these. They could have charged twice as much for these and I still feel like I would have gotten my money’s worth. Highly recommended.
